about

SONAROPHON ”NAKED ARROWS” 2013
In “NAKED ARROWS” Sonarophon takes a clearer more melodic direction. This is the duos second album since they first appeared in 2009 with album ”The Free Elements”.
Alf Terje Hana ́s dark electronic ambiance goes well along with Line Horneland and her clear vocals. Together they take us on a journey from the subtle soft arrangements in the opening track ”Far Too Close”, to a vast spacious nordic landscape in ”Play”. There are also darker volumes of depth to be felt in the third song “ Oldtidsstrid” (Olden Days Strife). Which reminds us of old religions and spirituality.
Then its like SONAROPHON toss us into a underground cavern of mischief in track 5 “Samtea” to gracefully and melodically bring us back up to the surface in “Sub”.
In the final track “Animal illogic” the duo opens a fearless field of sound with the confidence taken from the deeper levels they have explored.
NAKED ARROWS is a beautifully crafted album.
This is not a demanding album in any way but rather an album made for those who would demand and prefer to be taken on a different kind of journey.
